Alumni Office Announces Alumni Insurance Program
The UNC Asheville Alumni Association is pleased to sponsor an Alumni Insurance Program as a service to alumni.  The program offers a variety of attractively priced insurance products, most of which are available to alumni, students, faculty, and staff, as well as their spouses, domestic partners, parents, children, and siblings.

Alumnus Releases New Book of Appalachian Photography
UNC Asheville alumnus Tim Barnwell's photographs have captured the heritage and spirit of the southern Appalachian Mountains for three decades now. His new book of photos, Hands in Harmony, explores the craftwork and music of the region.


Alumni Office Relocates to Phillips Hall
Once tucked away in Owen Hall at the end of the UNC Asheville campus, the Alumni Office now has a new home in Phillips Hall. The new location provides a chance for the Office to work more closely with the campus and be a stronger presence at a variety of university events.


Mark Your Calendars for Homecoming 2010
A parade, a step show and men in drag all await students and alumni at the upcoming Homecoming 2010. The three-day event kicks off Feb. 25 and includes a parade, an art show, and men's and women's basketball games.


Zeis Science & Multimedia Building Officially Opens
The Zeis Science and Multimedia Building, a $32 million classroom, laboratory and office facility, is the newest addition to the UNC Asheville educational experience. The building was dedicated in a ceremony that took place on Sept. 10.


UNC Asheville Professor Appointed to the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium
UNC Asheville Philosophy Professor Gordon Wilson was recently appointed as a fellow at the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts for the 2011-2012 academic year.

UNC Asheville Welcomes 645 for Fall 2009
UNC Asheville welcomed some 645 new Bulldogs to its ranks on Aug. 14 as freshmen moved onto campus. The fall semester classes began Aug. 17.


A New Study Shows Why We Want to Protect the Vanishing Countryside
A four-year research project recently completed by Leah Greden Mathews, associate professor of economics at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, was able to determine the specific reasons people appreciate farmlands as well as to put a price tag on those values in Western North Carolina.
