Ice Cream Sundae Tip-Off
Join Dining Services in Tipping-Off Homecoming 2012 by enjoying a 500 lb ice cream sundae in the Dining Hall. 12:30 pm is when the sundae is presented to the students in the cafeteria; get your spoons ready and your Bulldog Spirit out as one large and fantastically sweet ice cream sundae is served. There will also be snow cones and cotton candy provided. Ice cream is brought to you by The Hop.

Nearly Naked Mile
Join the Student Alumni Association as they rip off their clothes, donate them to charity, and run one mile in their bathing suits for a great cause! This philanthropic event will benefit the Asheville Homeless Network. Sign up today and be a part of UNC Asheville’s first nearly naked mile.

Wear Bulldog gear and stop by Underdog Productions in Highsmith University Union for treats.
Float Making
Students, departments, and academic units are invited to decorate their parade floats in the Highsmith Union Student Organization Suite. Banners, markers, paint, tape, glue and a host of other materials is available for any group entering a float in the parade to utilize these resources and decorate the float in time for the parade.

Women's Basketball Pep Rally
Join us for a hearty and happy send off to the Women’s Basketball Team as we wish them good luck in vs. Radford. Listen to Bulldog music, send well-wishes, and meet the student athletes to show your support. Go Bulldogs!

Homecoming Parade
The annual Homecoming Parade is a great way for students, faculty and staff to show their Bulldog Spirit and support the UNC Asheville student athletes that make up our 12 varsity men’s and women’s programs. Enter your organization, department, academic unit, or team into the parade by completing the parade entry form online and be a part of the action! Float winners for the most creative float, the most spirited float, and the float with the best craftsmanship and attractiveness will be announced during the halftime of the Men’s Game vs. Winthrop.
Vehicles line up at 3 p.m. on University Heights.
If interested in participating, complete the online registration, or download the registration form.
Deadline to submit your float is Feb. 17.

Show your Bulldog spirit at the Men’s Pep Rally immediately following the Parade. Come cheer the team on as they prepare to play Winthrop on Saturday and meet other student athletes from tennis, track, volleyball, and soccer. Go Bulldogs!

Alumni Art Invitational Exhibition
The Art Department presents the 2012 Alumni Invitational Exhibition in the Highsmith Union Gallery. Featured alumni artists include: Laura Aultman [2003 Ceramics], Paul Jeanes [2002 Painting], Tom Schram [2009 Sculpture], and Cindy Walton [2005 Painting].

Step Show
Come see outstanding step performances by Greek organizations from the southeast. UNC Asheville hosts its 3rd annual “GO HARD or GO HOME” step show competition, featuring Greek organizations from Georgia, Virginia and North Carolina. Be a part of the action and watch UNC Asheville’s own step team take to the stage for an entertaining and exciting night of step competition. Students enter for free with a valid OneCard and community members and Alumni can purchase tickets at the door for $3.00.

Saturday, Feb. 25
Pre-Game Tailgate
Kick off the Saturday sporting event with tailgating in Karpen Parking Lot across from the Justice Center. Pull in and BYOB to enjoy music, games, food, and the company of former and current students. All guests must wear bands and follow tailgating rules of the university. See the safety tips provided by Campus Safety and located on this website.

The Bulldogs will battle against the Eagles of Winthrop at 2 p.m. Winners of the Homecoming Parade will be announced during half-time.

Homecoming Dance
Homecoming 2012 ends with a raging Dance Party at Crowne Plaza for UNC Asheville Students and Alumni and their guests. Tickets must be purchased in advance, as no tickets will be sold at the doors of the Dance. Tickets can be picked up at the Highsmith Union Information Desk. Students must show their OneCard and Alumni must show picture identification. Students and Alumni are allowed one complimentary ticket to bring a guest. Alumni tickets will be available to Alumni at all of the Alumni Events.
Shuttles are provided and students are strongly encouraged to ride the shuttle to and from Campus to the Crowne Plaza. Students must bring both their OneCard and Government Issued Id to Highsmith Union in order to ride the shuttles. Students will be given a stamp to indicate that they are eligible to ride the shuttles. Individuals that show up intoxicated will not be permitted to attend the dance.
The dance will serve beer and wine, only, and is a Cash Bar. Students, alumni, and guests will be asked to produce government identification at the dance upon ordering drinks to verify legal drinking age. Underage drinking is not permitted and is a violation of the student code of conduct which could result in university sanctions and legal consequences.
